General Information -
Lesotho Overland Tours:
  • Every guest on tour is entering a rural and unspoiled terrain. Therefore it is necessary to travel with a flexible and tolerant mind.
  • Accommodations, bathroom facilities and meals are at most places very basic, simple and rustic.
  • Most lunch stops are packed lunches or picnic meals.
  • There are no toilet facilities on route or very seldom.
  • We reserve the right to alter any routes or itineraries should circumstances, like weather, road conditions, unforseen obstacles etc. so demand.
  • Some accommodations use generators for the supply of electricity, which switches off at 22:00. Gas geysers supply hot water.

1 night/2 days
We depart from Underberg, up the Sani Pass, climbing up to an altitude of 2.874m. Zig zagging upwards under towering cliffs, buttresses, waterfalls and unique flora and birdlife. Entering Lesotho visit a Basotho mountain village, where the culture and traditions will be explained.

Ascend the Black Mountain pass up 3 280m - the Roof of Africa, for a picnic lunch...
1st Option: To stay at the Sani Top Chalet and have dinner at the restaurant.

Travel to the city of Mokhotlong and lunch at a local bistro.
2nd Option: Overnight at Molumong Guesthouse which is self-catering.

Guided tour of the Letseng Diamond mine, the highest in the world (3.250m).
3rd Option: Overnight at Oxbow Ski Resort and dinner at the restaurant.

Exit Lesotho towards Fourisburg. Continue the beautiful countryside of the Golden Gate National Park back to Underberg. Lunch on route.
With Option 1&2 we double back to exit Lesotho via Sani Pass back to Underberg.
